Cross-sectorial and cross-border EU INnovation partnership for cultural HERITAGE value chain
European cultural heritage is not merely a matter of remembrance or a hallmark of European identity: it is a driving force for innovation, creates new business models and brings people together across borders. The project aims to strengthen the European cultural and creative industries by promoting innovative, sustainable and digital models. Through forward-looking European cooperation, the aim is to consolidate the cultural heritage value chain and expand the sector’s strategic autonomy.
As part of the project, it is planned to provide financial support for at least 20 cross-sectoral innovation projects by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from various European countries. The selected companies will thus have the opportunity to develop new innovative products and services, implement pilot projects, establish digital and green practices, and cooperate transnationally.
At the same time, the capacities of SMEs will be specifically expanded through capacity building, entrepreneurial skills will be promoted, and sustainable digital solutions will be introduced. In this way, European clusters in the field of cultural heritage and the creative industries will be created, and awareness of the innovative, economic and social potential of cultural heritage will be raised.
Furthermore, the project identifies innovative technologies in Europe to reduce dependence on non-European suppliers. This is achieved through targeted capacity building and support for the transition to a greener, more digital and more resilient economy.
The project was funded by A Single Market.
