Life Long Burning – Futures Lost and Found
“Life Long Burning - Futures Lost and Found” is a four-year collaborative project building on the experiences of its predecessor, realized by the European network “Life Long Burning”—an association of European institutions dedicated to contemporary dance and performance.
The project addresses urgent challenges such as climate change, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, nationalist disengagement, social divisions, and conflicts, all of which underscore the vulnerability of our societies and planet. This initiative emphasizes the promotion of democratic European values and the development of innovative models for living together. It actively combats social exclusion, advocates for democratic and equitable decision-making processes within dance, and provides sustainable support for emerging dance artists and administrators. A key focus is on queer, non-binary, and transgender artists.
The project offers a range of initiatives, including international training, education, and capacity-building programs to foster innovative skills and sustainable career development. Other formats create opportunities for collaborative research, production, exchange, networking, and the shared dissemination of ideas.
Additionally, the project organizes open-format artistic gatherings addressing current social and political issues, along with platforms and symposia that promote innovative artistic and curatorial practices, cross-border presentations, and the strengthening of advocacy and audience engagement.
This project was funded by Creative Europe.
