NachhaltigkeitsKulturOWL (SustainabilityCultureOWL)
The shift towards a culture of sustainability is one of the central challenges of our time and is increasingly shaping public discourse, including in the cultural events industry.
The research project is a collaborative effort in which Schlosspark und Lippesee GmbH are joint partners. The University of Paderborn is responsible for project management and coordination. The project aims to strengthen the cultural events industry in the Ostwestfalen-Lippe region over the long term by developing innovative strategies in close cooperation with regional stakeholders. Key components of the project include identifying sustainability potential at outdoor cultural festivals and implementing practical, innovative management strategies. Building on this, concrete measures to enhance regional economic and sustainable structures will be tested. The project is supported by various online and offline formats for knowledge transfer and communication, including roundtables, workshops, podcasts, and a website providing up-to-date information on the project.
The project thus combines socio-political and cultural policy challenges with those of the cultural industry in the context of the regional development potential of Ostwestfalen-Lippe. This not only enriches the diverse cultural life of the region, but also strengthens the cultural events industry in the long term!
The project was funded by the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund).
